Tiny Epic Games: Small Box, HUGE Table Presence

One of the hardest things to do when it comes to playing board games is to fulfill all the prerequisites on this list. 1. Have a boardgame to play

Have people to play said board game WITH.
Have a table to play said board game ON.
Chairs anyone?
Drinks, food, etc etc.
Know how to play the boardgame.
Know how to TEACH someone how to play the boardgame.
Here's the truth, I have no idea how to help with ANY of that. I have an entire library of games that consist of 90 percent shrink wrapped Kickstarter games that will probably never see the light of day, let alone a table or an actual game session. Of the ten percent that are left, half consist of a series of boardgames that I hold near and dear to my heart: TINY EPIC

We've got Area Control

We've got Worker Placement

We've got Poker!
These boxes are small, taking up a pittance of space at 18x18x5 centimeters. Each component is as proportionately small. But goodness are these games amazing. They take up very little table space (unless you opt for the more deluxe components), are easy to teach and are very easy to pack back up. Most tend to sway a little bit more on the simpler side with a few delving into more complicated territories so if you're looking for more complicated and heavy games, be sure to check out Dungeons of Drunagor at the shop!! They are very accommodating as far as player counts, with a fair amount allowing solo games and the largest games going all the way up to 5 players!
I'm here to talk a little bit more in depth of one of my favorite games of the series: Tiny Epic Dungeons!!

Tiny Epic Dungeons is pretty much exactly as it sounds. A dungeon crawl for 1-5 players that tasks you with delving deep into the darker yet darker dank, dusty and musty homes of Aughmore's most villainous creatures! You'll roll dice! You'll collection equipment! There will be goblins! You'll lose! You'll win! You'll drink and be merry with friends! (these are not included with the game) You'll choose from 8 different heroes, ranging from your staple angry dwarf boy to the wily, wise Wizard!
'Who will you choose?"

You'll start out on the 'Altar' space and proceed to explore the dungeon by moving your party from there to any of the unrevealed dungeon tiles in any of the four cardinal directions.
You may reveal something like a goblin spawning teleporter! Checking the symbols on the bottom of these revealed cards will give you access to your spells and items. You could get access to the very high damage Elemental Charge or the powerful defensive Robes of the Phoenix!

Exploration consists of two different acts: Exploring the dungeons, acquiring equipment, finding the boss dungeon key and clearing the dungeon of any foul denizens, goblins or demons that may lurk within. Once you have done all the above....
'Something wicked this way comes...'

You unlock the Boss Dungeon door and commence with the second act! It is a race to survive as you force the dungeon master to crash and rage throughout the dungeon, holding it off as you use it to destroy its own ancient wards, protecting it from damage until you succeed in destroying them all. While you struggle to fight the boss, the denizens of the dungeon continue to assail and assault you, now desperate and raging, realizing that their master is in mortal danger! Will you survive? Only time will tell...

One last positive caveat of Tiny Epic games are the length. Even an in depth dungeon crawl such as this won't take any longer than 2 hours at most and cleanup is an absolute cinch, all components, cards and miniatures fitting neatly into the box. I hope you enjoyed this little look into a game series that holds a dear place in my heart and be sure to check out the stock of the various ones at gamersxp! I recommend Tiny Epic Vikings and the ALL new Game of Thrones games! And of course Tiny Epic Dungeons!!!

'Grip your blade tightly hero. Fear not the goblin for it's light is so dim and your blade shall easily snuff it out. Fear the flickering of your own light as the dungeon threatens to drown it in darkness.'
